WellBeing Health Walks
New Walking Group Launches to Boost Health and Community Spirit
A new community initiative, WellBeing Health Walks, is set to bring people together through regular, friendly walks aimed at improving both physical health and social connection.
Organised in partnership with Walk Scotland, a national charity promoting walking for health, the group is led by four trained walk leaders who are passionate about encouraging a more active lifestyle within the village. Their goal is simple: to create a welcoming space where people can enjoy the benefits of walking while building connections with others in the community.
The first walk will take place on Friday, 24th April, meeting outside the St Olaf Hotel at 9:45am for registration, with the walk starting at 10:00am. From there, the group plans to meet weekly, offering walks lasting between 30 and 60 minutes. Routes will be flexible, taking into account the ability of participants as well as the weather conditions.
To ensure safety, initial risk assessments have already been completed for three starter routes, helping participants feel confident and supported from the very beginning.
Whether you’re looking to get more active, meet new people, or simply enjoy the outdoors, WellBeing Health Walks offers a relaxed and inclusive way to do just that.
