Mahina Designs is a small artisan jewelry brand based in Cruden Bay, Scotland. She specialises in handcrafted designer costume jewelry, tribal-inspired pieces, and fine jewelry, all made locally in the village.
Some of her GeoMagpie range (https://geomagpie.wordpress.com/) is even made from the village, using stones collected (responsibly and with landowner permission) from the surrounding fields; these pieces come complete with a billion-year old story of how the stones formed.
The business is run by geologist and artist Steph Flude, who shares her creations and inspirations on social media. Her work often reflects the coastal beauty of Cruden Bay, including natural elements like the aurora borealis and the surrounding landscape.
More recently, Mahina Designs has been branching out to offer other forms of art, and making this and her photography available on clothing and homeware
