Mahina Dance
Cruden Bay based bellydancer Mahina teaches Fat Chance BellyDance® (FCBD) Style and performs FCBD® Style, Transcultural Fusion, and Oriental Style bellydance.
FCBD Style bellydance is an improvisational form of group bellydance that evolved in San Francisco in the late 1980s. It draws inspiration from a range of North African, Middle Eastern, and Southwest Asian folkloric dance styles. It celebrates community and encourages confidence and creativity, with all group members co-creating dance in real-time.
Transcultural Fusion (formerly known as Tribal Fusion) is a modern form of bellydance that fuses other dance styles, aesthetics, and music with more traditional bellydance. Mahina is known for enjoying heavy metal fusion, in particular.
Mahina currently teaches beginner level FCBD® Style bellydance classes on Thursday evenings in central Peterhead.
