THE FREDERICK SNOWDON DISASTER.
Another Body Washed Ashore.
Still another body, supposed to be one of the victims of the Frederick Snowdon, was washed ashore at Sandford Bay, near Peterhead. The body was that of a young man about 5 feet 7 inches in height and proportionately built. It was dressed in blue serge trousers, a vest of the same material, drawers, shirt, and semmit. The face was considerably decomposed, but from tattoo marks upon the arms it is believed to be that of the able-bodied seaman named Davidson who served on the Frederick Snowdon.
The body was removed to the Peterhead mortuary. One of the crew of the Frederick Snowdon was Charles Davidson, able seaman, 18 years of age, who resided with his parents at 65 Hutcheon Street, Aberdeen. He joined the vessel in July last. Previous to that he served on the Glenderry for about two years. He was a very popular young man, and took a wide interest in sport, and was a member of the Woodside Violet Football Club. Davidson’s father is a fireman on the Redhall.
