Davie Hay is bringing years of live music experience and raw musical energy into sharp focus with the release of Isolation Street, the new album from The Brickworks Project. Available now online, the album delivers a hard-hitting blend of punk attitude, ska rhythms, indie rock grit and bass-driven grooves that reflect Davie’s lifelong passion for powerful songwriting and unmistakable low-end energy.

Based in the coastal village of Cruden Bay, Davie has spent decades immersed in Scotland’s live music scene, performing at legendary venues across the UK while steadily crafting his own original material. Now, with Isolation Street, he is looking to connect not only with wider audiences further afield, but also with music fans closer to home across Aberdeenshire and the North East of Scotland.

The Brickworks Project carries a strong personal connection to Davie’s hometown. The name pays tribute to the Cruden Bay brickworks, where his father worked for three decades, reflecting both family roots and a lasting link to the local community that helped shape his musical journey.

The album features ten original tracks including “We’ve All Stopped,” “Strung Out In Suburbia,” “No Way Out,” and “All Over Town,” showcasing a sound that fuses classic punk spirit with infectious rhythms and sharp observational songwriting.

Davie describes The Brickworks Project as music built on groove, message and authenticity — songs with soul, energy and something real to say. That philosophy runs throughout Isolation Street, an album that captures both the intensity of live performance and the honesty of independent songwriting.

What makes the album particularly unique is its entirely DIY approach. Recorded at home, Isolation Street sees Davie performing every instrument himself, bringing his musical vision to life from start to finish. However, plans for the future are already taking shape, with work beginning on a second album that is expected to feature contributions from local musicians alongside Davie’s own performances.

For Davie, this release marks more than simply putting out a record. It is about building awareness of The Brickworks Project locally in Cruden Bay and surrounding communities, while also reaching listeners across the UK and beyond through online platforms and on-demand vinyl distribution.

While there are currently no plans to perform The Brickworks Project material live, Davie remains an active presence on the touring circuit as a member of local band Target5, regularly playing shows across Scotland and throughout the UK. That ongoing connection to live audiences continues to inspire the energy and authenticity that define his songwriting and recordings.
