Members of the Agricultural Section of the British Association at the farm of the Misses Cruickshank, Cruden Bay. The party also visited Tillycairn and Collynie farms (Mr Duthie Webster) and Grandhome (Mr J. D. Paton). In the group are Lord Raglan, Dr Crowther, Mr James Cruickshank Cruden Bay, and Sir J. Russell.

James Cruickshank and Family, owners of the Kilmarnock Arms, had several Farms and smallholdings in the Cruden Bay area in the early 1900s. Here we see them hosting a meeting of the members of the Agricultural Section of the British Association in 1934. James Cruickshank is front row 2nd in from right with his two daughters Mary and Ethel second row 2nd & 3rd from right. When I came to the Village in the 1960s Mary was married to John Garden and was therefore Mrs Mary Garden.
