The Scaurs at the Whinnyfold end of Cruden Bay Beach have claimed many Ships and Boats in the past. Here is one such casualty on 18/01/1907, The Star of the Isles. The Crew were saved. At the time of loss it was valued at £5500 but it was only insured for £4800. The wreck was sold on for salvage for £60.
