The Fiere Deems Women’s singing group. The group performs at the Folk Club on the last Friday of each month at the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel. We choose an eclectic range of music to sing; no need to read sheet music. New voices welcome.
The Fiere Deems is an all-female a cappella singing group based in Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire. Emerging from the Cruden Bay Folk Club, the group has been active for over a decade, bringing together women from the local community to share their love for music and harmony.
The group meets every Tuesday evening from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm at the Port Erroll (Cruden Bay) Village Hall. Their sessions focus on learning three-part harmony songs, which they perform at folk nights and community events. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive, encouraging members of all skill levels to participate. A monthly contribution of £11 helps cover costs such as hall rental and refreshments, but newcomers are welcome to attend a taster session before committing.
The Fiere Deems have performed a diverse repertoire, including songs like “All Around My Hat,” “Moon Shadow,” and “The Parting Glass.” Their performances are often featured at Cruden Bay Folk Club events, showcasing their harmonious blend and community spirit.
