Tahir Pervaiz has opened the doors to his new Co-op and Post Office in Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, following the redevelopment of the village’s Post Office and store, which had been closed since the end of September.

The new-look extended convenience store – operated as a Co-op Franchise – brings an enhanced range and choice of fresh and chilled products; meal deals and food to go; hot food, Fairtrade products; ready meals; pizzas; fresh meats and dairy; chilled beers and wines, and everyday essentials.

Cruden Bay’s new store also includes Costa Coffee Express and a serve-over bakery from North-East bakers Murdoch Allan. The National Lottery is also available, along with a cash-back service in the store, providing access to cash in the community.

There are offers, deals, and promotions throughout the store, and member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with lower prices on those essential products that shoppers buy most.

Kamran Tahir, Manager of the new Cruden Bay store, said: “Following an extensive investment programme to extend and enhance the existing store, we are absolutely delighted to open our doors and welcome the community into their new Co-op and Post Office. We are proud to have the opportunity to serve and support the community, and we are committed to being part of local community life.”

He added: “We have a focus on offering quality products, value, and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone, along with a range of added services such as postal services and coffee – we look forward to welcoming the community into their new store.”

Co-op is one of the world’s largest consumer-owned co-operatives, with its history dating back more than 180 years. Co-op exists to create value for its membership and communities, its more than 7 million members own the business and play an intrinsic part in the governance of the organisation.
