📣 All Change on Main Street, Cruden Bay!
Many of you will know that Paterson’s shop will soon be changing hands. George and Ruth Paterson, who have proudly run the much-loved local newsagent and convenience store since May 2019, will be moving on at the end of June.
Over the past six years, Paterson’s has become a true cornerstone of village life. Their friendly service and dedication have not gone unnoticed — especially during the Covid lockdowns, when they were a vital lifeline for the community. Their efforts and support during that challenging time will not be forgotten.
You may also recall that George and Ruth took over the ‘Beach Shelter’ shop in Collieston last July — and now they’re preparing for their next exciting venture!
Come June, George, Ruth, and the team (Nikki and Kira) will be relocating just along Main Street to the Old Congregational Church, where they’ll be launching a brand-new business: “Sweet Fangs.” 🧛♂️
This exciting new venture will bring a fresh offering to the village, including:
☕ Coffee
🧇 Waffles & pancakes
🥤 Milkshakes
🍦 Scooped ice cream & Mr Whippy
🌭 Hotdogs, toasties & sandwiches
🍩 Loaded donuts & cheesecakes (planned!)
🍬 Sweets, crisps & drinks
They’ll also be stocking beach essentials — perfect for visitors and locals alike — such as buckets and spades, body boards, towels, sun cream, and even dog treats and accessories 🐶
With the beach just a stone’s throw away, they’re also hoping to create outdoor seating using repurposed church pews — a unique touch that reflects both creativity and community spirit.
💭 Before we look ahead, let’s not forget the present.
Paterson’s will continue trading until the end of June, so let’s show our appreciation and support for everything George, Ruth, Nikki, and Kira have done for Cruden Bay over the years.
And then… get ready to sink your teeth into something new 🧛♀️ We’re sure “Sweet Fangs” will be a fantastic addition to Main Street!
