The current group was formed in 2005 and has staged many of the most popular pantos since then. Panto week itself means committing to 5 or 6 nights in one week to allow for technical and dress rehearsals as well as performances. Auditions are held in April. You don’t have to have any experience – there’s always something you can do – from set building to costumes, show night refreshments, stage crew and a lot of technical support for sound/lighting. There are no fees involved so why not come along one Wednesday evening or look out for auditions in April 2025?

Their productions are typically staged at the Port Erroll Public Hall, a central venue in Cruden Bay. In recent years, they’ve presented shows like “Once Upon A Panto” and “Alice in La La Land,” showcasing the talents of local actors, singers, and backstage crew. These performances are known for their humor, engaging storytelling, and community involvement.
The group maintains an active presence on social media, particularly through their Facebook group, where they share updates, ticket information, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of their productions. This platform also serves as a hub for community engagement, encouraging local residents to participate, whether as performers, crew members, or audience members.
In addition to their annual productions, the Cruden Bay Panto Group often collaborates with local organisations and participates in community events, further cementing their role as a cornerstone of Cruden Bay’s cultural life.
For those interested in joining or supporting the group, reaching out through their Facebook page is the best way to get involved and stay informed about upcoming performances and opportunities.
